Point System:
After the match ends and it’s Fair Play Checked, the victorious team will receive 1 Match Point, the defeated team receives 0 Match Points, and in case of a tie, both teams receive ½ Match Point.

Important Note:
The amount of victories during the match won’t affect the Match Point Total, but will be used as a tiebreaker.

Tiebreakers:
The first tiebreaker will be head-to-head results. The second tiebreaker will be the Total Amount of Game Points. The third tiebreaker will be a new match to define the winner.

Score Adjustments:
Match scores will be finalized after taking into consideration the account closures of members due to cheating or abuse, and also after applying penalties for multi-team players. This will occur prior to announcing the final standings of the Round.

Minimum Board Forfeits:
In order to claim a forfeit win due to lack of boards, teams must have clear evidence that a team did not meet the minimum boards at the match's intended start time. The team claiming a forfeit must have visual evidence (e.g. a screenshot) that shows that they met the minimum on time. Past matches do not count as visual evidence for this purpose. If no such evidence is available, the must must be played as a normal match. Teams are encouraged to make sure Auto-Start is set to No when setting up challenges to make adjudicating these forfeits easier.

Communications:
Team admins should not communicate directly with non-admin members of the opposing team. Please work directly with the opposing team admins and/or league admins through email to avoid public conflict and confusion. Always cc the league commissioners.

Team Filtering Guidelines:

Per the spirit of the Regal Chess League, teams are encouraged to seek out new members and strengthen their teams. In order to ensure teams are accepting players in a fair manner, the following guidelines must be followed:

Do not remove players from matches, EXCEPT: Players with timeout of 15% or higher (removal allowed), multiplayers (removal requested).

Accept all players into your  team if they are students in the school.

Players may only be denied in the following cases: new players who have been on chess.com for less than 1 month (denial allowed, not required), abusive players (denial recommended), players who have no connection to your school.

Do not remove players from your group, EXCEPT: abusive players, multiplayers, inactive players (more than 1 year), closed accounts.

Do not deny players access to your group because of: rating, timeouts (dealt with by allowing removal from matches), suspected cheating (recommended to report to chess.com), number of games completed (dealt with by match minimum).

Appeals:
All appeals will be reviewed by the League Commissioners.

Fair Play:
The use of external help like: chess engines, AI, opening books, and human help is forbidden and goes directly against The Regal Chess League’s Spirit!

To determine if a player incurs in any of the fair play violations listed above; the games will be reviewed by chess.com, chess masters, and The League Commissioners.

If a player suspects that his opponent violated any of the fair play rules he must contact his team admin and the admin will send a report including the game link or evidence to the league commissioners.

The final decision will be made by the League Commissioners.

To change chess.com accounts during the same season it is not allowed.

If a player deletes his chess.com account in the middle of the season, he won’t be able to participate in the rest of the season matches. Even if he creates a new one.

To switch accounts between seasons it is allowed (not mandatory).

Abuse:
All The Regal Chess League teams and players are encouraged to have a good sportsmanship behavior towards the rest of the teams and players.

To insult during a game or through chess.com chat to other players, team admins, or league commissioners will be considered a violation of the fair play/abuse regulations, and this behavior will be sanctioned by The League Organization.

If a player,  team admin, or league commissioner wants to accuse a player of breaking the abuse regulations, evidence of such violation (screenshot/picture) is required.

Sanctions:

If the Leagues Commissioners find reasonable evidence to prove a player violated the fair play/abuse policy the player will be immediately removed from the season, and the player’s team will forfeit the match where the violation occurred.

If during the season two players of the same team (Not necessarily during the same match) violate the fair play/abuse regulations and they are removed from the competition, then the team will be removed also.

Important Note:
Rules and procedures are subject to change upon a vote of the league coaches and commissioners.
